Denise Tiralla Youth Services Librarian, comes to GYRL after investing 30 years in the field of education. Her experiences range from teaching education courses to college students, administrating early childhood programs for two major employers on the seacoast, working one-on-one with middle school students and teaching Pre-K, first and second grades in the NH public school system. Denise received her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of New Hampshire; Masters of Education degree from the University of Cincinnati and Special Education Certification from NH College of Lifelong Learning.
Through all these experiences, Denise’s greatest passion has been exploring children’s literature. Watching the excitement and joy on children’s faces as they realize they can read is one of Denise’s greatest delights. In her spare time, Denise enjoys writing and has published a children’s picture book titled Miss Lulu and Stu. (Piscataqua Press 2015). The book describes her experience finding a 1962 Studebaker Lark at a yard sale in Vermont. You might see Denise and Stu driving the back roads of Gilmanton or she’ll be tucked away in her writing studio ..a 1976 Scotty Camper. Denise looks forward to getting to know Gilmanton readers of all ages and sharing conversations about good reads and life in this beautiful rural town. Please feel free to email her during this time of transition with book requests, suggestions or introductions! chilibgyrla@metrocast.net |
