Borrowing

Borrowing privileges, including use of the Interlibrary Loan program, are extended to all library card holders.  Cards are available free of charge to all Gilmanton residents; residents of surrounding towns may obtain a library card for $15.  We encourage all Library users to sign up for library cards in order to make full use of our services.  However, the Library is open to the public and all are welcome to use our collection in-house.  For more information regarding our circulation policy, please inquire in the Library.

Renewals:  Most borrowed items may be renewed upon request.  You do not need to bring the item to the Library in order to renew it - renewals may be requested via telephone, e-mail, or through our Contact Form.  Renewals are processed during the scheduled opening hours of the Library.

Books

We have over 11,000 items in a wide variety of genres available for circulation.  The majority of our collection was donated to the library by generous patrons, without whose support the library collection would not exist.  At this time, we are also adding new bestsellers and other interesting titles on a regular basis.

Our library is fully-automated and all titles can be accessed through our online "card catalog" (OPAC). Unfortunately, at this time the OPAC is only available on the public computers in the library, and cannot be accessed remotely.

Interlibrary Loan

We are pleased to be able to offer our patrons service through the state's Interlibrary Loan program.  If you are looking for an item we don't have in our collection, in most cases, we can borrow the item from another library.  This service is open to all current library cardholders.  For more information, please inquire at the circulation desk.

Magazines and Newspapers

Through the generous support of donors, we are able to offer a variety of magazines to meet the interests of our patrons.  The current issues must be enjoyed in the library, but all back issues circulate.  We also subscribe to several daily and weekly local newspapers, including Union Leader, Concord Monitor, Laconia Citizen, and Suncook Valley Sun.  These newspapers do not circulate.

DVDs

We have an ever-growing collection of DVDs to suit the interests of the whole family.  All DVDs circulate for FREE!
Computer and Internet Services

Patrons may access the internet and basic software, including Microsoft Office Professional, from any of six public PCs available on the main floor of the library.  In addition, free wi-fi access is available throughout the building, for patrons who wish to use their own laptop computers.

Printing and photocopying services are available for 15 cents a page.
Meeting Space Policy

The Gilmanton Year-Round Library offers meeting space for community groups and organizations, when not in use for Library activities.  For more information, please download the Meeting Space Policy and Reservation form.  If you have additional questions about having your group meet in the Library, please contact the Library at (603) 364-2400 during library opening hours.
