The GYRLA Board and Staff want to send a BIG THANK YOU to the Gilmanton Firemen's Association for their generous gift of an AED Machine. We hope we never have to use it, but we feel much safer knowing we are prepared in an emergency! Firefighters that not only keep our community safe but they give back to it too? Gilmanton sure is a great place to live!

What are your Librarians reading?
Miss Tasha's Current Read:
The Piper family is steeped in secrets, lies, and unspoken truths. At the eye of the storm is one secret that threatens to shake their lives -- even destroy them.
Set on stormy Cape Breton Island off Nova Scotia, Fall on Your Knees is an internationally acclaimed multigenerational saga that chronicles the lives of four unforgettable sisters. Theirs is a world filled with driving ambition, inescapable family bonds, and forbidden love.
Compellingly written, by turns menacingly dark and hilariously funny, this is an epic tale of five generations of sin, guilt, and redemption.
Miss Pam's Current Read:
Peasant girl Elena Rudina is slowly starving to death along with her dying mother in the Russian countryside. Her eldest brother has just been drafted into the Tsar's army. When a train carrying Ekaterina, a girl of the nobility, unexpectedly breaks down in their village, an opportunity presents itself. Through a series of unplanned events, the girls switch places, and Elena is off to Saint Petersburg to visit the Tsar, whom she will ask to free her brother. Add in a young prince, Baba Yaga, a fire dragon, and dancing matryoshka brides, and you have a rollicking adventure full of Russian folklore and vigor. Michael Page gives an amazing reading, making Baba Yaga a cross between a witch and a comedian. He easily conveys Elena's fears, sorrows, and pessimism. Page's deep, craggy voice adapts to each character, making them distinct and appealing.
