What's happening next at the GYRL?
What are your Librarians reading?
Miss Tasha is currently reading the third book in the All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness. She has waited over a year (a very long year) for The Book of Life to arrive at the libray. The three part story tells the tale of a mysterious and powerul manuscript lost forever...or so they thought. This trilogy weaves into the human world, demons, witches and vampires. It takes you from modern day Cambridge to Elizabethean England right to the Queen herself! If you haven't read the first two books and are in the mood for a wild ride through history stop and check them out today!
Miss Pam is reading Philomena by Martin Sixsmith. This story tells the true and tragic of Philomena Lee - a teenage who becomes pregnant and is sent to a convent to give birth. Her baby boy is taken from her and she is imprisoned in service at the convent. The tale follows her adopted son into his life as a politician and a gay man with AIDS. An epic tale of loss, victories and love - we highly suggest you grab this title up today!
In October we are starting a Home School Group! All parents are welcome to join the group, ask questions, share ideas, etc. Check our calendar or call for details!

The GYRL Giving Tree
Please take a moment to read about our newest GYRL fundraiser! It offers an opportuntiy to everyone to show their support!
This tiered plan allows all levels of donations to be given to the GYRL. From a $25 Acorn donation to fund a program, to a $1000 Gold Leaf donation to assist in operating costs.
There are six levels of donations available from which to choose.
They are as follows:
20 Acorns - $25
10 Flowers - $50
40 Copper Leaves - $100
20 Bronze Leaves - $250
10 Silver Leaves - $500
5 Gold Leaves - $1000
The ultimate goal of The Giving Tree is to raise the sum of $20,000 for The Gilmanton Year - Round Library. It is our hope that leaf by leaf, acorn by acorn, we will accomplish this mission.
Any donation level chosen provides the Staff and Board of The GYRL with the resources to offer a vast collection, engaging programming and great service to the deserving residents of Gilmanton.
